Mom friends are a must!

Every mom needs mom friends whether you work full time or stay home with your children full time. A really good friend of mine and I started a private mommy Facebook group, we wanted somewhere to go for advice, to vent, plan play dates, mom nights out and get to know other moms on a more personal level!

We have a great group of 30 or so moms. A smaller group allows for us to really get to know each other and feel more comfortable asking advice on more personal subjects and eliminates drama. We encourage the moms to attend events and be pretty active.

I’ve met some really great ladies and consider all them great friends. We do craft nights, swap babysitting, favorite things parties and big family potlucks. I really don’t know what I would do without my mom friends. Especially when looking for someone to watch my sons last minute.

I will be posting a sneak peak of one of our events in the future.

Rainy Day Fun

My boys love the rain…

Whenever it rains we get on our boots, raincoats, grab the umbrellas and head outside. They love splashing in puddles and getting muddy!

When it stops raining we take a drive in their battery powered little red corvette and drive through puddles at the park. Afterwards its bath time, another one of their favorite things to do.

If its too gross to go outside, pouring rain or storms we enjoying making lunch together and having a picnic inside or baking cookies.

We also visit the Minnesota Zoo if the weather sucks. I have a membership so we go all the time. Just going 2x pays for the membership. Part of the Zoo is indoors and you can bring your own food to save money.

Mini Van Shopping

Mini Van shopping….

A couple months ago we (my hubby Al and I) decided we needed a bigger vehicle, I was driving a 2006 honda accord. With driving around two boys and a dog Al suggested a mini van. I did not want to be a soccer mom! After talking about it I agreed to at least check them out. We decided on either a Dodge Grand Caravan (stow and go) or a Honda Odyssey (lasts forever).

My parents suggested a guy that will do the research and find you the best deal for your $ and also sit through the process so you don’t get add on’s you don’t need. He will also negotiate to get you the best financing for your new car. I was under the impression he would negotiate at the dealership to knock down the price as well.

After paying the fee, he did all the research and i picked out one liked, unfortunately the one i wanted sold the day before. On to the next choice, he picked me up and we headed to check out a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan (pic above), prior salvage title (so was my honda). Test drive went well, I had my own financing through my bank and decided to buy it.

On my way home… The brakes started thumping, it needed an oil change and the a/c in the back didn’t work (it blew out hot air). I returned it the next day, they were so nice to rent me a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan for free until another van came in for me to look at. Called 2x yesterday and they have not gotten back to me if the van is in for me to look at.

Continuing my mini van shopping…

Hello world!

Welcome to our life as Kings!

My name is Alicia and I am a stay at home mom, I also work part time teaching CPR. I have two boys, Jameson (5) and Cashton (2) as well as a 6 year old chocolate lab. We live in Minnesota.

I’d love to let you inside our lives, some things I will post about will be cabin trips, baking, crafts, attending play dates and outings, also a sneak peak inside my mommy group (everyone needs one) and how we enjoy Minnesota weather the best we can.

My husband Al loves breweries, we try to visit a new one every weekend and we rate them. We also love sporting events, concerts and checking out local festivals. If there is a food truck, we will be there!
